Introduction
This project discusses the Social Safety Job Board project.
Our Inspiration
The South Dallas Employment Project (SDEP) was established in February 2020 by Redemption Bridge (RB), a 501 © (3) nonprofit intermediary, in partnership with the State Fair of Texas (SFOT). Its overarching goal is developing a strategic approach to support individuals returning to or living in south Dallas in 5 identified zip codes to lead sustainable lives.
The Project is built on the “Talent Pipeline Demonstration Model” developed by Redemption Bridge, premised on closing the skills gap in Texas, serving opportunity populations, providing training, resulting in nationally recognized industry certifications, enabling their employability, to lead sustainable lives.
The Model is mainly focused on engaging five industry sectors that have the largest unmet, non-duplicated job demand, and provide a living wage and career opportunity. Those include:
Transportation, Distribution, Logistics
Advanced Manufacturing & Production
Digital Technology
Building, Construction & Trade
Business
Looking for jobs can be exasperating most times, issues arise; proper placement, culture fit, and a lot of other issues. As employers, it gets increasingly harder to recruit the right people while managing recruitment costs. Based on this, SSN Job Board aims to bridge the gap between job-seekers (especially those reentering society) and employers.
Our Solution
Welcome to our job platform! Our platform is designed to connect job seekers with potential employers in a variety of industries. With our platform, job seekers can create a profile and upload their resume, search for job listings, and apply for positions that match their skills and experience. Employers can create a company profile, post job listings, and search for potential candidates to fill open positions.
To get started as a job seeker, simply create an account and complete your profile by providing information about your education, work experience, and skills. Once your profile is complete, you can begin searching for job listings that match your criteria. You can use the search filters to narrow down your results by job title, location, and industry, among other criteria. When you find a job that interests you, you can apply for it directly through our platform by submitting your resume and any other required application materials.
Employers can also create an account and complete their company profile. This includes providing information about the company, its mission and values, and any other relevant details. Once your profile is complete, you can begin posting job listings. You can provide details about the position, including the job title, location, salary, and required qualifications. You can also use our platform to search for potential candidates by using the search filters to narrow down your results by skills, experience, and other criteria. When you find a candidate that you would like to consider for a position, you can reach out to them directly through our platform to initiate the hiring process.
In addition to job seekers and employers, our platform also offers resources and tools to help both parties throughout the job search and hiring process. Job seekers can access resume templates, tips on how to write a cover letter and advice on how to prepare for job interviews. Employers can access guides on how to write effective job listings, how to conduct interviews, and how to onboard new employees.
We hope that our platform will be a valuable resource for both job seekers and employers, and we are committed to providing a user-friendly and effective solution for connecting the two.
