An introduction to Philanthrolab Datalabs
What is Datalabs
Datalabs a centralized data warehouse or data lake where users can:
Search for data on various topics
Perform client-side statistical analyses on data
Visualize the data
Perform ML operations data
Export data to various formats
Upload data which they can make private or public
The overarching idea is that citizens, individuals, companies, and governments have access to any data they need and the tools to make that data actionable.
Proposed Features
Data Description
Data description process allows the user to extensively describe the data before they can be allowed to upload it. Data description form fields will follow the FDS schema as explained in the architecture page.
Upload data
Data can be uploaded by any registered user on the platform as long as the data pass verification checks.
Client-side Data preprocessing
Support for browser-based data preprocessing functions like filtering and wrangling of data.
Search
Support for full text-based search. That means, users can search for all indexed data using natural language queries.
